Franks For The Memories and Buffalo Wings

An experiment in 1964 at the Anchor Bar in Buffalo, N.Y. caused the creation of “Buffalo Wings”. The owner, Theresa Bellissimo, took chicken wings, removed the tip and cut them at the joint, leaving the drumstick portion and the flat part. She then deep fried the pieces and basted them in a butter and hot sauce recipe. From what was an improvised snack for her son and his friends grew to be the most popular item at their restaurant. The popularity eventually spread to numerous other restaurants in the Buffalo area, and from there, down the east coast and all across the country.

20 years later, Jim and Carol Schultz, natives of Buffalo who had relocated to the Chicago area years before, decided to open the restaurant and share with everybody the tasty morsels that made them homesick.

Today, just as my parents did, we prepare our Buffalo Wings authentically - they are large, meaty, crispy and delicious. Select from mild, medium, hot and extra hot sauces as well as several specialty sauces. Family owned and operated for nearly twenty-seven years, our Buffalo style wings have continuously been a Lake County favorite. We hope that you enjoy!
